The cast also includes Zoe Saldana, Jill Wagner, Dave Annable, Lamonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Hannah Love Lanier, Stephanie Nah and Jonah Wharton. Variety previously reported that Nicole Kidman would join the series as an executive producer.

Freeman will play Secretary of State, Edwin Mullins. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Freeman has played a high-ranking US government official.

He previously played the President of the United States in the movie Deep Impact and the chair-turned-president role in the movie Olympus Has Fallen. His character in the latter film became Vice President in the sequel London Has Fallen and President in the third film Angel Has Fallen.

He also played the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court in the film adaptation of Tom Clancy’s The Sum of All Horrors, in which he played the CIA Director. The Supreme Court guest-starred on his CBS show Madame Secretary, which he executive produced.

Freeman is one of the maximum well-known actors of his generation. During his career, he has been nominated for five Oscars for the films ‘Street Smart’, ‘Driving Miss Daisy’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘Million Dollar Baby’ and ‘Invictus’.

He received Best Supporting Actor for “Million Dollar Baby”. He has also been nominated for Golden Globe Awards for all of these films, including winning for Driving Miss Daisy. He has also been nominated for three Emmy Awards, most recently he has been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in his Series of OTT’s Kominsky Method Comedy. Sheridan created ‘The Lioness’ and also serves as an executive producer.
