Kanye West has avoided the media in recent weeks, but he is reportedly travelling to Ghana to attend the Black Star Line Festival as an unexpected guest.
Ye is expected to travel to Africa and make a special performance at the event in Accra, which is being put on by two of his pals and fellow Chicagoans Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper, according to DJ Ebenezer Donkoh.
The New York DJ posted on Twitter on Thursday, “I’m receiving news that Kanye West will be the surprise act at the Black Star Line Festival in Ghana this weekend” (January 5).
The Black Star Line Festival will be held in Accra on Friday night (January 6th) and will be a free event for fans featuring headlines from T-Pain, Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Erykah Badu, Jeremih, Tobe Nwigwe, and more. A concert will be held.
Ahead of the festival, Vic Mensa announced it would deliver clean water to various parts of Ghana. Drilling a well reportedly takes about three to four weeks and includes 10 to 15 days of on-site drilling followed by pipe and cable installation.

Kanye West has kept a low profile over the holiday season, and reports have surfaced that his former CEO is having trouble finding him. However, Barstool Sports podcaster Rone said he saw Yeezy having dinner at Utah’s gorgeous Amangiri resort earlier this year.
“My wife sat down and said, ‘Did you see the person sitting at this table?’ I walked away without looking at it and it was Kanye,” he said. “He’s at Brother Amangiri and he’s hanging out over there. Everyone else signs NDAs, but I don’t sign shit.”
